The Gala Awards Night will be held at The Barn on Friday, October 19th 2018. Tickets will go on sale via StickyTickets in September.

Award Criteria

The Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber) will appoint a team of judges which includes at least one independent judge to ensure that the awards are judged impartially, fairly and with thoroughness. 

  • The Awards are open to businesses and employees operating primarily in Mount Gambier and district
  • Separate applications must be completed for multiple categories
  • The Chamber reserves ther right to disqualify applicants at its discretion should it deem any of these terms and conditions breached. 
  • The same application cannot be used every year
  • Previous Award winners cannot resubmit the same application
  • To be eligible, activities must occur at some stage from the close of last awards to close of current awards
  • All nominations must be received 31st July, 2018
  • No alterations to applications will be permitted after the date of submission, although submissions may be withdrawn prior to thedate of the awards night
  • There is no entry fee
  • The judging panel will shortlist up to 3 finalists and select a winner from those shortlisted in each category
  • The judging panel will visit shortlisted businesses to validate applications
  • The judging panel may award an encouragement or highly recommended award in each category
  • The judging panel reserve the right to move an application to a more appropriate category and/or multiple categories. Judges will inform applicants of this, should it happen
  • The judging panel reserve the right not to present an award or awards if they believe there is not a suitable applicant
  • The judging panel reserve the right to ‘mystery shop’ the premises of applicants in order to assist with judging
  • These awards will be judged to recognise excellence 
  • No correspondence will be entered into by the applicants with the judging panel
  • All applicants will be invited to the Awards presentation dinner
  • Award winners will be listed on the Mount Gambier Chamber of Commerce website and social media channels and be listed in any press articles
  • The Chamber reserves the right to use all or any of the nominations materials submitted for promotion of the Awards. Under no circumstances shall the organisers be held responsible for the payment of royalties or other charges for the use of material in support of the Awards.
  • All applications become the property of the Chamber on submission
  • No responsibility for loss or misdirection of entries will be accepted by the Chamber, the judging panel or any other party acting as an agent for the Chamber
  • The young business leader award is open to anyone who meets the age criteria who is in a senior leadership position in a business or who owns a business
